MadreVenus Tattoo

I created four pieces that explore the relationship between the human figure and cyborgs, inspired by movies like MATRIX, TERMINATOR, and ROBOCOP. These pieces were my Final Course Project for my Visual Arts university and were designed to represent different stages of my creative process: inspiration, sketchbook, development, and digital finishing. Each piece was meant to be tattooed on different parts of the body, with professional stencils produced for each one, applying necessary biosafety measures for the tattooing process. The pieces will be displayed at the vernissage.

One of the pieces, called Madre Vênus, was inspired by a painting by the French painter William-Adolphe Bouguereau. In my interpretation, the central figure resembles an android, and I used a software of artificial intelligence to generate details of the mechanical adaptation. I also drew inspiration from the aesthetic of the Spanish sculptor Tomàs Barceló. The adornments were created with robotic patterns to symbolize the idea of blooming from a technological structure.

I tattooed Madre Vênus on Robinson, a long-time supporter of my work who has been getting tattoos from me since 2019. Robinson is a geography graduate who loves the arts and was thrilled with the work I offered him. The tattoo was done in two sessions, with the first session focusing on the linework and the second on the shadows, volumes, and values of the composition.
